How much does VascTrac cost?

VascTrac is a free app.

What is the time commitment of the study?

The initial survery will take about 5-10 minutes. After the initial onboarding, we will ask for 10-15 minutes of your time every three months for a total of two years.

What are the potential benefits of this study?

We have never been able to track the natural history of peripheral arterial disease longitudinally at such a granular level for individuals. We have also never been able to track actual daily activity for patients with peripheral arterial disease after interventions/procedures for long periods of time.

We hope to gain insights into patterns of disease progression as well as how our interventions/procedures actually affect patient activity. You will be able to review a summary of your activity in the VascTrac dashboard to help visualize trends. We will provide daily, weekly and monthly and yearly averages that will provide insights into your activity.

Will my data be safe?

Yes. This study will gather sensor and health data from your phone with your permission. Your data will be encrypted and sent to a secure database, with your name replaced by a random code. This code cannot be used to directly identify you and will be kept in a seperate secure system than the data collected.

We will never access your personal information, such as your contacts, other apps, personal photos, texts, emails or websites visited.

We will make every effort to protect your information, but total anonymity cannot be completely gauaranteed.

How will my data be used?

Your un-named and coded study data will be combined with similarly de-identified data from other study participants and used by Stanford researchers to study the natural history of peripheral arterial disease.

With your permission, we will also share your de-identified data with researchers approved by Stanford. We will be looking for walking activity patterns and correlating these to the vascular surgical procedures and the symptoms you report in your surveys.

Is VascTrac a diagnostic tool?

This study is NOT a medical diagnostic tool and isn’t designed to provide medical advice, professional diagnosis, opinion, treatment or healthcare services.
